APEX 72" Lightweight Foam Trailer Ramp Kit
7" Height / 5.5° Approach Angle / Set of 2
The APEX 72" Lightweight Foam Trailer Ramp Kit is built for low cars, long trailers, and people who are done gambling with ground clearance. Each ramp is 72 inches long with a 7 inch rise and a shallow 5.5 degree approach angle that lets serious street builds, track cars, and long overhang coupes roll onto the trailer without scraping. A high density structural foam core and rugged textured coating keep the ramps light to move yet strong under load, while a reinforced UHMW insert embedded into the trailer interface prevents compression and shelf deformation where the ramp meets the door. The result is a long, stable loading solution that keeps your approach geometry consistent every time you haul.

APEX Trailer Ramps For Low Cars
Loading a low car onto a trailer should not feel like a stunt. APEX trailer ramps are purpose built for sports cars, track builds, exotics, and long overhang coupes that hate steep trailer doors. Each lightweight foam ramp uses a high density structural core and a textured coating to cut the approach angle, smooth the transition, and protect splitters, lips, and exhaust. You get serious load capacity, ultra light handling, and geometry that is tuned for real enclosed and open car haulers. No more sketchy lumber stacks, no more guessing at angles, just clean, predictable loading.
The Long-Ramp Fix For Low Cars And Tall Trailers
If your trailer door looks harmless but every low car treats it like a concrete barrier, the 72" Lightweight Foam Trailer Ramp Kit from APEX is the fix that actually matches the problem. These trailer ramps are built for situations where shorter ramps still leave you holding your breath. At 72 inches in length with a 7 inch rise and a 5.5 degree approach angle, they turn a steep, sketchy breakover into a long, controlled ramp that low front ends can live with.
You are not guessing with scraps of lumber or stacking blocks until it looks about right. You set the APEX ramps in front of the trailer, drop the door into the reinforced UHMW shelf insert, and drive the car up in one smooth motion. That UHMW reinforcement takes the abuse at the door edge so the foam core does not crush or roll over. The bumper stays off the edge. The splitter stays off the hinges. The exhaust clears. Loading finally feels like part of the process, not a stunt.
72 Inches Of Gentle, Predictable Approach
The geometry of this kit is tuned around two realities. Modern cars keep getting lower, and a lot of trailers are not getting any shorter at the rear. That combination is brutal on front lips and aero. The 72 inch length extends the trailer far enough that the vehicle climbs gradually instead of being forced to pivot over a sharp hinge point at the door.
The 5.5 degree approach angle is shallow enough for aggressively lowered street cars, serious track builds, and long nose coupes that normally hate trailer ramps. As the tires roll up, the chassis rotates slowly, which keeps the nose from diving down toward the trailer edge. That extra margin is the difference between no problem and that just cost me a new splitter.
APEX Ramps Structural Foam Core That Acts Like A Solid Ramp
Inside each APEX trailer ramp is a high density structural foam core designed specifically for vehicle loading. This is not hollow plastic. It is a solid, closed cell foam body that distributes weight through the full ramp instead of concentrating it at one thin surface.
Under load, the ramp feels planted. There is no metal ring, no flexy sheet, no sense that you are driving onto something temporary. The core resists permanent compression, so the ramp keeps its shape after repeated weekends at the track and countless hauls. It stays light in the hand but behaves like a serious, shop-grade tool under the tire.
Tough, Textured Coating That Grips And Protects
Every APEX ramp is fully encapsulated in a rugged polyurea coating. This outer skin locks onto the foam core, sealing it from moisture and chemicals while adding impact and abrasion resistance. It also provides a micro textured surface that grips both the trailer deck and the tire.
On concrete, asphalt, typical trailer surfaces, and many coated shop floors, the ramps are designed to stay where you put them. No sliding forward, no creeping back as you load. You are not adding rubber mats, throwing down sand, or hoping the ramp does not move when a heavy front end hits it. The coating does the quiet, boring work of keeping everything planted.
Reinforced Trailer Shelf That Stays Square Over Time
Trailer ramps live a hard life at the contact point. The shelf where the trailer door sits takes concentrated pressure every time you load or unload. That is where foam-only ramps often start to compress and deform. The APEX design builds in a reinforced UHMW insert at this critical zone so the contact face can handle repeated impact and point loading without giving up.
When you drop the trailer door into the shelf, it meets a stable, square UHMW edge that does not quickly round off or collapse. The insert prevents compression and shelf deformation where the ramp meets the door, which means your approach angle stays consistent, your door sits where it should, and you can rely on the same geometry every time you use the kit. For anyone hauling multiple cars or running a transport operation, that repeatability matters.
Long Ramp, Light Weight, One Person Operation
Even at 72 inches long, each ramp in the 72" Lightweight Foam Trailer Ramp Kit is light enough to move by yourself. Integrated carry zones are molded into the body so you can grab and go without straps, bolts, or loose hardware. That is the difference between a tool you use every time and a tool you dread dragging out.
Because the ramps are solid foam with a non marring skin, they will not rust, they will not scratch coated floors, and they will not leave ugly marks in an enclosed trailer. They can live in the trailer full time, lean against the wall in the shop, or ride in the tow rig without being a problem. APEX built them to work like any other professional piece of equipment, not as something that baby-sits in a corner.
Why APEX Ramps For Long Trailer Ramps
There are plenty of generic ramps that claim to work with low cars. APEX Ramps designs this kit specifically around trailer loading, structural foam behavior, and low vehicle geometry. The 72 inch length, 7 inch rise, and 5.5 degree approach angle are deliberate, not accidental. The reinforced UHMW shelf, polyurea coating, and structural core density are chosen to survive real use by people who actually haul cars.
If you are tired of treating every loading session like a risk, this is the long ramp you buy once and trust for years. It is the solution you put in the trailer when you do not want to think about ramps ever again.
Who Is This Product Best For?
- Owners of extremely low street and track cars that consistently fight trailer angles
- Motorsport teams and transporters who load multiple low vehicles into enclosed or open trailers
- Performance and tuning shops that regularly move customer cars with minimal front clearance
- High end dealers and specialty resellers transporting valuable vehicles where cosmetic damage is unacceptable
- Any trailer owner who wants an APEX level long ramp solution instead of improvising with random lumber every time
Why APEX Trailer Ramps Beat Improvised Solutions
Scrap 2x12s and random blocks are heavy, inconsistent, and never quite the same twice. APEX trailer ramps are engineered, not improvised. Approach angles are calculated for low cars, lengths are tuned around real trailers, and each ramp is built from a solid foam core that feels planted under load. You still use your existing trailer door or steel ramps, but you add a smooth, controlled ramp in front that makes every load-in feel like a plan instead of a workaround.
Lightweight Foam, Heavyweight Performance
APEX ramps deliver the same kind of loading confidence you expect from premium foam brands, but with geometry and features tuned to modern car haulers. The high density core spreads weight through the body of the ramp while staying light enough to carry with one hand. A rugged textured shell grips concrete, asphalt, and typical trailer decks, so the ramps stay put while the car climbs. The result is a compact, easy to store ramp that punches well above its weight in actual use.
Built For Track Days, Transport, And Dealers
Whether you are a weekend track regular, a small transport company, or a dealer who moves inventory every day, APEX trailer ramps give you a repeatable setup you can trust. Low cars roll on without scraping, techs and drivers stop wrestling lumber, and customer vehicles stop paying the price for bad loading angles. Pair the right ramp length and height to your trailer, and you have a loading system that works the same way every single time.
Trailer Ramp FAQs
How do I pick the right APEX trailer ramp for my trailer?
Match two things: the height you need at the trailer door and how low your vehicles are. Taller doors and more aggressive drops benefit from longer ramps with shallower angles. Measure your current door height and choose the APEX trailer ramp kit that delivers a lower approach angle than what you are fighting now.
Can I use APEX trailer ramps with both enclosed and open trailers?
Yes. APEX trailer ramps are designed to work in front of fold down doors and traditional steel ramps on both enclosed and open car haulers. As long as you have a flat, stable surface in front of the trailer to place the ramps, you are good.
Are APEX trailer ramps rated for real vehicle weights, not just small sports cars?
The structural foam core is engineered for thousands of pounds per pair, covering most sports cars, coupes, sedans, and many light trucks and SUVs. Always check the specific model rating and compare it against your front axle weight and trailer use.
How do APEX trailer ramps compare to steel or aluminum ramps?
Steel and aluminum tend to be heavy and loud, with fixed geometry. APEX ramps are lighter, quieter, and designed specifically to soften approach angles for low cars. They complement your existing trailer door or ramps instead of replacing them outright.
Can I leave the ramps in the trailer full time?
Yes. The closed cell foam and durable coating are built to handle typical trailer environments. They will not rust, do not absorb water, and can live in the trailer year round without complaint.

Ultra-lightweight APEX ramps for trailers, lifts, garages and storage. Built for low cars and people who actually wrench.
One Idea. Four Ways To Use It
APEX ramps solve the same problem in different places - on the trailer, in the garage, on the lift and when the car sits for a while.
From The Lift People. For The Ramp Problem.
APEX is born inside the same group that builds BendPak car lifts. That means these ramps were sketched on shop floors, tested under real cars and refined around real frustrations. APEX ramps are not just an accessory. They are part of a system. The missing piece between the floor, the trailer and the lift your car already trusts.
All The Strength. None Of The Struggle.
Steel ramps are strong but heavy. Aluminum is lighter but still a fight. APEX ramps use a solid, lightweight high-density EPS structural foam core that changes the math. The foam core spreads weight through the body instead of concentrating it at thin contact points. The outer skin is a tough, textured coating that locks to the core and grips tires and floors. Don't dread the setup. Grab an APEX ramp, drop it where it belongs and get on with the work.
What's Inside Every APEX Ramp?
APEX ramps are not painted mystery foam. Each one is a composite: a high density expanded polystyrene core locked inside a sprayed polyurea elastomer shell. The chemistry is overbuilt for what you do to ramps in the real world.
Polyurea Coating On The Outside
The outer shell is a two component polyurea elastomer sprayed directly onto the foam. Isocyanate and amine react in milliseconds to form long chains of urea linkages that crosslink into a dense, rubber tough skin. That chemistry gives you high tensile strength, very high elongation and serious abrasion resistance in one layer.
The coating wets into the EPS surface while it cures, so it does not sit on top like paint. It keys into the core and locks on, which is why you can drag APEX ramps across concrete, load on them all weekend and not watch the shell peel away.
- Fast cure time for a seamless shell around the core.
- High elongation and impact resistance for dropped tools and curb hits.
- Micro textured finish that grips tires and typical shop floors.
- Excellent resistance to oil, fuel, coolant and most common shop chemicals.
High Density Expanded Polystyrene On The Inside
The core starts as styrene beads that are pre expanded with steam, then fused under heat and pressure into a solid block. At the densities APEX uses, expanded polystyrene behaves like a structural foam: rigid enough to carry heavy loads, light enough to move with one hand and stable across real temperature swings in trailers and garages.
Closed cell structure means the beads trap gas rather than water. The core does not soak up moisture, does not rust and does not slowly turn to mush if you park on it for long stretches. Compression is distributed through the whole block instead of one thin wall, which is why APEX ramps feel planted when you drive onto them.
- High compressive strength relative to weight for real vehicle loads.
- Closed cell construction that resists water ingress and freeze damage.
- Dimensionally stable across typical shop and trailer temperatures.
- Acts as a damping layer so ramps stay quiet under the car.
Two Materials Working As One.
Put together, the EPS core and polyurea shell give APEX ramps a solid core feel with a tough, grippy surface that holds up to trailers, lifts and low cars that actually get driven.
