Short Description

Atlas PRO-9D Commercial Grade Overhead Two Post Lift
9,000 lbs. Capacity Direct Drive Single Point Lock Release

The Atlas PRO-9D two post above ground lift is the perfect choice for those smaller commercial repair facilities or the "Mr. Homeowner" who demands the highest quality at the absolute best price. The 12 foot tall Atlas PRO-9D is a TRUE 9,000 lb. capacity two post lift that offers a great value to the customer. It offers several benefits over the popular 9K-OH, including a direct drive lift with a single-point safety release and a better warranty.

The Atlas PRO-9D has symmetric columns and specially designed arms that can be set in either the symmetric or asymmetric position. The asymmetric/symmetric arm design offers an extremely low lift pad position on the EZ-metric lift arm configuration. This low pad height will allow the operator to position the lift arms under most small cars (with low pick up points) and heavier pick up trucks. The PRO-9D has dual direct drive cylinder, this direct drive system, with fewer moving parts, ensures years of excellent lifting service from your Atlas above ground hoist.

The Atlas PRO-9D includes: a complete set of solid peg type truck adapters, mounting hardware, a set of sliding lift point adapters, and a 220 volt single phase power unit that can be mounted on either side of the lift. (The power unit column must be on the correct side).

The Atlas PRO-9D two post direct drive cylinder lifts have a spring loaded Secondary Lock System (SLS) that automatically engages in the event of a slack or broken chain.

Single Point Lock Release - This Atlas Lift has a manual single point lock release that allows the operator to release all the safety locks at one time. The spring loaded lock handle and power unit dump valve must be activated at the same time. (two hand operation) If the lock handle is released and the dump valve handle is still being pressed, the lift will continue to descend and all locks will automatically re-engage at the next lower lock point.

Automatic Arm Restraints - are needed to keep the arm "locked" into a position relative to the carriage. When the arms are at rest in the lowest position, the arm restraint pin (which extends below the carriage) is pressed up and the lock (teeth) mechanism is disengaged. The operator can then move the arms so that the lift pads can be properly positioned under the vehicle’s lift points. Once the carriage is raised (approximately 2 inches) the lock is reengaged and the arms cannot be moved. However, the operator may pull the knob or metal ring to manually unlock the arms. Lock restraints do not guarantee that a vehicle cannot be "moved" off of the lift pads. Operator should use care when working on vehicles that have an abundant amount of undercoating (lift pads may "slide") or a significant weight imbalance of the vehicle may occur due to removal of an engine or transmission. Also, "HEAVY wrenching" may result in a vehicle shifting weight on the arm pads. We recommend the use of tall jack stands under the vehicle to add another layer of safety.

Overhead Configuration - The overhead bar configuration leaves the floor area between the columns open, and allows the operator to easily roll a transmission jack or a tool box under the car. The Automatic Padded Shut-Off Bar located below the cross beam prevents the top of the vehicle from being damaged by hitting the cross beam. The padded bar, which contacted automatically shuts off the motor on the power unit to prevent the vehicle from being lifted.

Asymmetric/Symmetric Arm Design - offers an extremely low lift pad position on the EZ-metric lift arm configuration. This low pad height will allow the operator to position the lift arms under most small cars (with low pick up points) and heavier pick up trucks. This lift has symmetrical columns and includes a set of EZ-metric arms. These arms can be configured into the symmetrical position to lift a full loaded pick up truck OR these arms can be configured to the asymmetric position to offer easier opening of the front door on some vehicles.

The power unit may or may not have a short pigtail (no plug) that can be wired to either an optional quick disconnect box (mounted on the lift column) or to a male/female plug combination. A 30 amp breaker is required.

Installation
The Atlas PRO-9D Overhead Two Post Lift should be installed on a concrete floor. This concrete floor should have a minimum of four (4) inches of concrete with 3000 PSI strength. Most of our above ground lift customers install their own car lifts. The average time to install the Atlas PRO-9D car lift is five hours. We provide detailed installation instructions with all our two post above ground lifts and our four post above ground lifts.
